FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police said they arrested a suspect in a shooting Saturday which left a 22-year-old man dead.

Anthony Antonio Davis, 31, of the 100 block of Mary Street was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Hawthorne Road and West Drive around 12:45 a.m.

Police said the victim was shot and killed during an altercation. He was identified as Devonte Dorsey Bryant of the 2900 block of Dobbin Holmes Road.

Officers said Davis was arrested without incident with help from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. He was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.

Police say he was taken into custody while at the home of a known acquaintance, 31-year-old Renee Nicole David of the 8000 block of Beaver Dam Road. She was arrested on outstanding warrants from Lee County for speeding, driving while license revoked, and violation of court order. She was also taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center.
