RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A search warrant reveals new details in a home-invasion style robbery that targeted country singer Scotty McCreery and friends at an off-campus apartment near NC State last month.
It happened just before 2 a.m. May 5 in the 2100 block of Raleigh's Wolf Tech Lane.
According to Raleigh police, three armed people came into the home and took wallets, cash, and electronic items before fleeing.
According to the search warrant, the robbers were armed with two pistols and an AK-47 assault rifle and forced the students into a closet before telling them to count to 100 before they could come out.
Raleigh police have charged 19-year-old Mikkail Jamal Shaw with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in the case.
The warrant says Shaw was identified as a suspect in the case through forensic evidence gathered at the scene.
Authorities are still searching for the other suspects.
