South Carolina woman accused of putting baby in fridge

CHESTER, S.C. (WTVD) -- Investigators say a South Carolina woman put her 4-day-old son in a refrigerator for three hours leading to his death from hypothermia with asphyxiation.

WSOC-TV reports deputies in Chester County south of Charlotte and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigators charged Angela Blackwell, 27, with homicide by child abuse on Monday.

According to an arrest warrant, Blackwell took the infant out of the refrigerator at her home in Chester after three hours and then sought medical attention.

It happened in February.

Blackwell remains in the Chester County Detention Center.
