Woman charged in fatal Raleigh motorcycle crash

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Police have charged a 65-year-old Raleigh woman with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in a crash Tuesday that took the life of a motorcyclist.

Raleigh investigators said Ernestine Leach was behind the wheel of a Lexus LS400 headed east on Clark Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday when she attempted to make a left turn onto Daniels Street.

That's when she collided with a Suzuki motorcycle driven by 22-year-old De'Andre Jamar Jackson. Jackson was rushed to WakeMed where he later died.

Leach and two passengers in the Lexus were not hurt.
