Police are investigating a reported sexual assault in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating a sexual assault of a woman in the Sapona Road area.



Police said it happened Friday around 8:50 p.m.



Authorities said the victim was in the area of B Street near Grove Street when she accepted a ride from the suspect. The suspect then drove to an area along Sapona Road and physically and sexually assaulted the woman, according to police.



The suspect was described as a black male in his 50's with a light skin complexion. He's described as stading about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds with "distorted teeth." He is said to have short black and gray faded hair and is unshaven. He was wearing a red shirt with white writing, blue jeans, and a tan flat-billed hat.



Police said he drove a black 4-door Ford F-150 truck.
