Andrew Luck gets start vs. Patriots, throws TD

INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts quarterback Andrew Luckstarted Sunday's game against the Patriots after missing the previous two games with a right shoulder injury.

Luck made an immediate impact for the Colts, leading the offense on a 13-play, 89-yard opening drive for a touchdown on the Patriots.

Luck's 5-yard touchdown pass on a fade to receiver Donte Moncrief over Patriots Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler marked the first time this season that the Colts scored on their opening possession.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said last week that he expected Luck to return to the lineup barring any kind of setback with his shoulder.

"I think it's pretty much like riding a bike home, right? He's got a few snaps under his belt, so I think he'll be fine," coach Chuck Pagano said recently.

Luck is trying to get his first victory over the Patriots. He went into Sunday 0-4 with 11 turnovers -- 10 interceptions and a fumble -- in his career against New England.

Veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck led the Colts to victories over Jacksonville and Houston during Luck's absence.
