Free agent cornerback Antoine Cason, who played for the Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens last season, had surgery on his right foot Tuesday and will miss the 2015 season.

He announced the surgery on Instagram, saying it was done to "fix an ongoing problem."

Cason, 28, was cut by the Panthers late last season after starting 12 games and registering 58 tackles, two interceptions and four forced fumbles. He then was picked up by the Ravens and played only six snaps in two games before being released.

The four-year starter has a knack for creating turnovers and has multiple interceptions in all seven of his NFL seasons.
