Kings center DeMarcus Cousins continues to recover slowly from a case of viral meningitis, according to a USA Today Sports report.
According to the report, Cousins has missed the past five games due to meningitis and is expected to miss at least another seven to 10 days.
The Kings announced Wednesday that their big man had been admitted to the hospital for treatment and rest for a viral infection and that he would miss this weekend's games against the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic.
But according to the USA Today report, it is now more likely Cousins will resume basketball activities later in the week.
Cousins is averaging career highs of 23.5 points, an NBA-best 12.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Sacramento has gone 1-5 since Cousins last played on Nov. 26, after a surprising 9-5 start this season.
