Duke sophomore Luke Kennard will declare for the NBA draft and sign with an agent.
The school made an official announcement on Thursday afternoon.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pound guard led the Blue Devils in scoring this season, averaging 19.5 points. Entering the season, Kennard was projected to come off the bench. However, with injuries to Grayson Allen, Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles and Marques Bolden, he was the team's best and most consistent player throughout the season.
Duke will lose Tatum and Giles in addition to seniors Amile Jefferson and Matt Jones. Tatum and Giles both announced they will sign with agents. The Blue Devils are still awaiting the decision of Allen.
Multiple NBA executives told ESPN that Kennard, who also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists, played his way into the first round with his performance this season.
