Baylor coach Art Briles announced Friday that his son, Kendal Briles, will be the Bears' offensive coordinator moving forward, including in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl against Michigan State.
"I'm not big on announcements," Art Briles said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "So we'll just kind of ride through it and let it happen."
Longtime offensive coordinator Phil Montgomery left Baylor two weeks ago to be the head coach at Tulsa.
Kendal Briles is in his seventh year as the wide receivers coach and passing coordinator under his father.
Under Kendal Briles, the Bears have produced a number of prominent wideouts, including NFL startersTerrance Williams and Kendall Wright.
