CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- North Carolina junior point guard Marcus Paige is recovering from ankle surgery.

The school says Paige had arthroscopic surgery Monday in Charlotte, North Carolina, to remove bone spurs in his right ankle. He should be able to resume basketball activities this summer.

Paige led the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game and was honored as the Tar Heels' most valuable player for the second straight year. North Carolina reached the NCAA Sweet 16 before losing to eventual national finalist Wisconsin.
