NEW YORK -- What's it like to be an NBA draftee on the day that your lifelong dream is realized?
We found out with Frank Jackson. The guard played a season at Duke before impressing at the combine, hiring an agent and opting to remain in the draft. However, Jackson underwent foot surgery late last month, keeping him from working out for teams leading to the draft.
Jackson, a projected late first-round pick, watched the opening round from the stands without hearing his name called. But his wait didn't last longer than that as the Charlotte Hornets took him with the first pick of the second round. Soon after, however, the Hornets traded Jackson to the New Orleans Pelicans.
