Each week, I'll write about the sport I love: college basketball:

  • Frank Jackson decided to sign with an agent, giving up his final three seasons of eligibility at Duke. I felt that if he returned next season he could have had a special campaign with the Blue Devils. I see him going in the second round of the NBA draft.

  • Cullen Neal has become a basketball vagabond. He left New Mexico to go to Mississippi. Now he has left Oxford to go to Saint Mary's.

  • The Missouri Valley Conference made a good decision inviting Valparaiso into the conference. Remember, the MVC needed a replacement when Wichita state went to the american athletic Conference.

  • Cincinnati and UCLA will meet in a home-and-home series over the next two seasons. UCLA will host the Bearcats for the first time ever in Pauley Pavilion on Dec. 16, 2017.

  • Former Ohio State Buckeyes guard JaQuan Lyle was arrested on misdemeanor charges. Lyle, who averaged 11.4 PPG and 4.6 APG last season, left the team on April 11.

  • Sorry to learn of the passing of former St. John's guard Glen Williams to cancer He was an outstanding scorer in the 70s.
