Carolina Panthers wide receiver Stephen Hill was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Tuesday in Concord, North Carolina, police records show.

Hill was cited for two misdemeanors: possession of marijuana paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt.

The Panthers report to training camp Thursday. They had no comment on the citations Wednesday.

The Jets drafted the 6-foot-4 Hill in the second round in 2012, but he disappointed in New York.

He signed with Carolina last September but didn't appear in any games. Hill was expected to compete for one of the backup receiver spots behind No. 1 Kelvin Benjamin in camp.

Information from ESPN.com Panthers reporter David Newton was used in this report.
