STILLWATER, Okla. --TCUreceiver Josh Doctson suffered a left wrist injury late in the second quarter of the Horned Frogs' 49-29 loss toOklahoma State on Saturday.
The nation's leader in receiving yardage, Doctson appeared to have his wrist rolled upon after a 12-yard reception in the final minute of the first half.
Doctson did not return to the game and spent the second half standing on the sideline with his uniform on, icing his wrist.
Doctson had joined with quarterback Trevone Boykin to carry No. 8 TCU to an unbeaten record prior to Saturday's loss, with 71 receptions for 1,250 yards (17.61 yards per catch) and 14 touchdowns this season. He is generally considered a favorite for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation's top receiver, and the unquestioned No. 1 target on TCU. He entered Saturday's action with six straight games with at least two touchdown receptions.
"You go in with a game plan, and the game plan is to throw to No. 9, and then No. 9's not there anymore,'' TCU coach Gary Patterson said after the loss. "Your whole set of rules change for this offense, because they set plays up for people."
Doctson was targeted 94 times before Saturday's game, with KaVontae Turpin second on the team in targets with 33. Turpin was TCU's second-leading pass-catcher with 25 receptions, 355 yards and six touchdowns before the contest against No. 14 Oklahoma State.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Doctson was targeted 11 times before the injury, six more than any other Horned Frog.
