North Carolina coach Roy Williams said he is "hopeful" that starting point guard Joel Berry II will be available for the Tar Heels' second-round game Sunday againstArkansas.
Berry injured his right ankle when he landed on the foot of a Texas Southern defender on Friday. He came out of the game but was able to return.
Williams said he held Berry out of Saturday's practice while he continued to get treatment.
"We have no idea what his ankle is going to be like in another 30 hours or whatever it is," Williams said. "He's not going to practice today. He's been getting treatment. I'm hopeful that he will play, but we're going to wait and see."
Berry, for his part, said he expects to play against the Razorbacks.
"I'm feeling pretty good," Berry said. "I'm walking better than I was yesterday. I did a lot of treatment today. It's just a little sore, but overall, I feel pretty good."
