DURHAM (WTVD) -- Another truck got wedged underneath the railroad bridge at Pettigrew and Roxboro in downtown Durham overnight.
It happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday and impacted traffic in the area for several hours as crews worked to remove the vehicle from the low clearance bridge. Around 4 a.m. Thursday, another 18-wheeler was at the scene to transport cargo from the stuck truck.
All traffic coming north on South Roxboro Street was forced to take a detour by turning on to Pettigrew Street.
The Roxboro Street Bridge, built by Southern Railways back when trucks were smaller, is no stranger to incidents like this despite the low 11-feet-4-inch clearance being clearly marked with plenty of signs warning drivers.
