Crash shuts down part of I-95 in Northhampton County

Interstate 95 southbound was shut down Monday afternoon in Northampton County near MM 177 due to a crash.

Chopper 11 HD was overhead the scene. A tractor trailer was off the road in the woods.

Officials said a tractor trailer had collided with the poles of a DOT message board, ripping them out of the ground.

The message board was covering both southbound lanes.

Crews said about 50 gallons of oil and diesel fuel were leaking from the truck.

The driver was treated on scene and then taken to the hospital by EMS.

The road was closed for about an hour and a half until the message board could be cleared.

Highway Patrol is investigating.
