I-40 west in Johnston County closed due to accident

JOHNSTON COUNTY, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating a crash that closed I-40 westbound near US-70 in Johnston County near Clayton.

The left lane was closed between Exit 309 and Exit 312 and reopened after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Officials have not yet said what caused the crash or if anyone was injured.
