Overturned tractor trailer blocks I-95

CUMBERLAND COUNTY (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating an accident the blocked Interstate 95 for several hours Friday morning.

It happened around 4 a.m. just south of Fayetteville, near St. Pauls.

Details surrounding the accident have not been released, but it did involve an overturned tractor trailer.

The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed at exit 41 for several hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.

Traffic was rerouted at the exit to NC-59 and US-301 and back to I-95 at exit 33.
