DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A Durham tow-truck driver who was unloading a vehicle from his car told Durham Police that he heard gunshots Monday night and then realize he had been struck by a bullet.

It happened at Elizabeth Street at Canal Street, EMS workers arrived to find the driver, a 32-year-old man, suffering from a "penetrating wound to his chest."
The victim was taken to Duke Hospital for treatment.
Police said the driver had serious, but apparently non-life-threatening injuries.
There are no suspects. Police continue to investigate.
