WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The parents of two Wake County middle school students accused of using pot, and being searched at school are now demanding surveillance video.

They are standing by their claims despite a spokeswoman for Wake County Schools saying that one of the parents apologized.

In a statement, the parents say their daughters told truth about the incident last Friday at Centennial Middle School.

They say Kiala Golden was handcuffed by the school resource officer during the search Friday and Monday of this week.

However, a Wake County Schools spokeswoman says there were embellishments to the girls' story including neither the school resource officer nor Golden was on campus the day of the alleged incident.

Lesonya Jefferson says everything the school system is saying is a lie.

The school system says searches of students are allowed without parental consent.
