Large crowd onhand for Taylor Swift concert at PNC Arena
Thousands of people packed into PNC Arena Tuesday evening to see one of the biggest concerts of the year.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Taylor Swift performed to a sold out crowd at the PNC Arena in Raleigh Tuesday night. The pop sensation is on tour for her album titled "1989."

"Hyped does not even begin to describe it," said Madison Tam, who is already planning to see Swift again when her tour takes her to Greensboro.

For hours leading up to the concert, fans waited outside. Some sang Swift's hit songs such as "Shake It Off," while others showed off their homemade Swift inspired outfits.

For Shannon and Faith Newsome from Sanford, seeing Taylor Swift in concert has become something of a tradition.

"It's a mom and daughter thing. She's going to be a senior this year," said Shannon. "So this is her last high school concert."

While many of the fans in the crowd were girls and their mothers, there were a few dads in the crowd. One sported a big pink tutu and held a sign that read, "My dad only wears tutus for Taylor and me."

We also found another dad taking heroic measures.

"Actually, I'm Super Swift," said Scott Hartsell of Charlotte, who wore a superman costume with the back of his cape reading "Super Swift" while his daughter wore a cape that read "Wonder Struck."

Taylor Swift's next stop is Philadelphia on Friday. Her tour brings her back to North Carolina on Oct. 21 in Greensboro.
