Wake Forest family surprised by Operation Home Coming, gets new home

WAKE FOREST (WTVD) -- On Thursday, Sgt. Anthony Von Canon and his family received the best Christmas surprise they could have dreamed - a new home.

The family said they're overwhelmed and it's all thanks to Operation Coming Home.

Von Canon suffered debilitating back and neck injuries while under attack in Afganistan.

His wife is also in the Army Reserves and is about to give birth to their third child.

What sweetened the surprise was the announcement that they had won was made on live television.
