Treat yourself to DQ and help Duke Children's Hospital
Thursday is Miracle Treat Day and participating Dairy Queen restaurants donate $1 for every Blizzard sold to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Duke Children's Hospital is full of kids with everything from infectious diseases to complex cancers to genetic disorders. Duke's also one of the largest charity health care providers in the Southeast, but it takes donations and fundraisers to make that happen.

Thursday, you can help. It's Miracle Treat Day and participating Dairy Queen restaurants donate $1 for every Blizzard sold to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to help children in need.

At three Triangle locations, the money will go to Duke. At Raleigh's New Bern Avenue Dairy Queen, you can also enjoy a classic car show and face painting for the kids.

Our own Barbara Gibbs shared her renowned cake decorating skills and decorated a Dairy Queen cake with the "Frozen" characters and an ABC11 logo. You can win the cake in a raffle.

Here are the locations for the participating Triangle Dairy Queens:

  • 5260 New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.
  • 1008 Morrisville Carpenter Road in Morrisville.
  • 631 Walnut Street in Cary.
