1 killed in motorcycle accident off Highway 210 in Johnston County
Officials say a man in his twenties was killed after leaving a party.

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist is dead after an early morning accident in Johnston County.

Authorities responded to the scene of the crash around 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

The accident occurred on Highway 210 near Peed Lane.

Officials say 26-year-old Joseph Daniel Pollard, of Angier, was killed after leaving a party.

Investigators say the motorcycle ran off the right side of the road, struck a road sign and then a tree, ejecting him from the bike.

Pollard was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

Troopers believe speed played a role in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
