Worker rescued from church bell tower in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities rescued a man who was trapped in a church bell tower on Thursday afternoon.

Our crew on the scene said the worker was trapped in the Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.

Officials have not said how badly the man was injured or how he became stuck. Fire crews told our crew his injuries were not life-threatening.

Our crew on the scene said the man works for an air conditioning and heating company, and he reportedly fell off of a ladder. He has not been identified.
