DURHAM (WTVD) -- One day after losing to Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton in the South Carolina Democratic primary, a campaign office for Bernie Sanders opened in downtown Durham.

Nestled here on North Church Street, the office is full of "Bernie for President" signs and the "Feel the Bern" slogan. On Sunday, supporters said they were excited to get this office up and running for Triangle voters.

Aisha Dew is the State Director for Bernie Sanders. She said this Durham office is a first for the Triangle but it's the third office for Sanders' campaign in the state. They opened an office in Charlotte three weeks ago. There's also an office in Winston Salem and they're opening a fourth one in Asheville Monday and another Tuesday in Wilmington.

These openings come after Sanders only received 26 percent of the votes in the South Carolina primary.

So far, Sanders has only defeated Clinton in New Hampshire. Clinton has taken wins in Iowa, Nevada, and now in South Carolina.

Still supporters in North Carolina are confident he's the candidate to win over Democrats here.

"We're here to win North Carolina and we believe as long as we're able to talk to the voters of North Carolina, we can win here," said Dew.

Sanders' Durham campaign office opening comes two weeks after a Clinton office opened in downtown Raleigh and just one day after a campaign office for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump opened in Fayetteville.
