RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Bernie Sanders for president campaign says the senator will hold a rally Friday at the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center in Raleigh.
Doors for the event open at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public but people are encouraged to RSVP.
North Carolina is one of five states holding presidential primaries next Tuesday.
Sanders last held a public event in North Carolina last October, when more than 9,000 people attended a Sunday night rally.
Sanders' primary rival Hillary Clinton held a rally Thursday afternoon in Durham.
For the Republican primary, Donald Trump visited Concord and Fayetteville this week while Ted Cruz was in Raleigh and Charlotte. Cruz also is expected to attend an event Sunday in Concord.
