Man shot in head near downtown Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham Police are investigating after a man was shot in the back of the head on Liberty Street near Grace Lane.

First responders worked on the man at the scene late Friday night, and he was taken to a hospital.

Police said later that he was in stable but serious condition.

Police do not have anyone in custody. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
