Drive-by suspect in court
Damontez Corbitt

DURHAM (WTVD) -- US Marshals have captured a man wanted in a series of Durham shootings.

Damontez Corbitt, 21, was arrested Thursday.

The Durham Police Department says Corbitt is accused of shooting into an occupied vehicle on Fayetteville Street on March 16. He's also allegedly behind a shooting into an occupied dwelling on Macon Street on Feb. 19.

Police say nobody was injured in either of those shootings and that the shootings were not random.

The list of charges include three counts of aggravated assault, discharging a weapon, property damage, and violating his probation.

Durham County District Court Judge William Marsh increased Corbitt's bond Friday from $500,000 to $1.5 million.

He'll be back in court later this month.
