Police: Elderly couple found dead in Apex home ruled murder-suicide
APEX (WTVD) -- The Apex Police Department is conducting a death investigation where two people are reported dead at a home on Old Grove Lane.
The area is just north of US Highway 1.
About 9:25 a.m. police were requested to help a Wake County Sheriff's Deputy to check on the welfare of the residents. When they arrived, officers found the bodies of Hallie Kenneth Price Jr. and Jean Byrd Price, both 70 years old.
Both died from gunshot wounds in what looks to be a murder-suicide, officers said.
According to neighbors, the couple were good, fun-loving people who worked at a nearby Food Lion grocery store.
Police say a lawyer who knows the couple asked for someone to check on them after receiving an email from them.
The case is still under investigation.
