Help the Red Cross help NC families

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- When we think about the Red Cross helping in a disaster, we think of major events like hurricanes or tornadoes. But that's not always the case.

Here in Eastern North Carolina the American Red Cross helps an average of five families a day who lose their possessions in a house fire.

Thursday, April 21 is Red Cross Giving Day. Starting at midnight until 11:59pm any donation you make to the Red Cross will stay in North Carolina to help families recover from a disaster.
