FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville are trying to identify a suspect seen on surveillance video during an armed robbery at a Dollar Tree store.

It happened Monday around 9 p.m. at the Dollar Tree on S. Reilly Road.

Police said a man entered the store and went to the cash register as if to purchase items, but then pulled out a pistol and demanded money.

The suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash from the register and fled on foot in an unknown direction, according to officials.

The suspect was described as an African-American man standing 5'06" to 5'09" tall, weighing about 150 pounds, and appeared to be in his late 20s to early 30s. He was last seen wearing all black clothing, large round sunglasses and what was described as a "Rasta" style hat.
