HOKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person died and two were injured Saturday evening after a head-on collision near Raeford.
It happened on Highway 401 around 7 p.m.
Highway Patrol says two vehicles were involved. A 70-year-old man crossed the centerline and hit another car head on, according to authorities.
That car had a 44-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy.
Troopers say both adults were in critical condition and both were taken to a hospital. The 44-year-old man was taken by helicopter to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. The 70-year-old man later died of his injuries. The boy was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is expected to be okay.
No other information was immediately available.
