Police investigate two separate shootings in Durham

Two shootings happened late Wednesday in Durham.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham Police were investigating two shootings that took place Wednesday night.

The first one happened on E. Main Street near Fayetteville Street.

Police said a man there was shot in the leg.

He was taken by ambulance for treatment.

The second shooting happened on Alston Avenue.

Police confirmed a man was shot in the head but was not seriously hurt.

The victim was able to walk to the ambulance and appeared alert as he was taken away for medical assistance.

No suspects were in custody in either shooting.

The shootings do not appear to be related.

No other details were immediately available.
