Watch NC mom's reaction to heart transplant news

BURLINGTON, NC (WTVD) -- The mother of a Burlington teen who got a heart transplant at UNC in March had a priceless reaction to word about his latest biopsy.

"Zero. Percent. Rejection! Woo hoo! Hallelujah," said Alj Jefferies' mom Tina Turner in a video posted to the internet.

FOX8 reports Alj was born with a heart condition called cardiomyopathy and spent his whole life in and out of hospitals. His heart increasingly weakened in recent years and doctors said a transplant was his only hope to survive.

He hopes to go back to school this fall.
