People across the country will be able to mark the occasion by getting a sweet deal, as many stores will be providing free doughnuts.

Here are some of the locations:

Dunkin' Donuts will give a free doughnut with any drink purchase.

Krispy Kreme offers a free doughnut with no purchase necessary (in every state except Connecticut.)

Duck Donuts will hand out a free sugar doughnut with no purchase necessary.

And many Rise locations in the Triangle are taking part too. The Raleigh, Durham and Carrboro locations are even donating 10 percent of sales to the Salvation Army in honor of National Donut Day!
