MORRISVILLE, NC (WTVD) --Police are investigating a possible drowning at a community pool in Morrisville.
A woman's body was discovered at the pool off Mason Farm Road and Jadewood Drive around 8 a.m. Tuesday by a maintenance worker who called 911.
The woman was later identified as 66-year-old Anna Sun Clark of Jadewood Drive.
A neighbors told ABC11 that Clark lived with relatives a short walk away from the pool. He described her as a woman who hosted dinners at their home and maintained a beautiful yard.
The pool has regular hours, but residents said people do come after dark. There are no lifeguards.
"I was in here last night with my boys and my nieces, and having as good old time. And this morning, first thing we hear is that a woman had died, drowned," said Christianne Lehman, who is visiting the area from Toledo.
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed by authorities, however, police say they are investigating the incident as a suspicious death.
"We're investigating it as a suspicious death, so I can't tell you either way if we have a homicide it an accidental drowning," said Morrisville Police Chief Patrice Andrews.
The chief said the victim was dressed, but not in a swim suit, and there were no obvious signs of trauma.
"Doesn't appear to be that but again, she's fully clothed. So we'll leave that up to the medical examiner," Andrews said.
