Move-in day at Duke
Duke students move into their dorms Tuesday

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Move-in day brings first year students and families to the nation's campuses, but at Duke University Tuesday, they added some uptown funk for new residents and passersby like freshman Cameron Foltz.

"Beautiful campus, great area. Good weather, beats Chicago by a long shot," he said.

That's what Duke boosters like to hear. They've got lots of logo gear available for families to take home, like Kim Bird who moved in her daughter Tuesday all the way from Texas.

"This was her first choice and she got in, and so here we are," she said. "Very excited for her! Duke's going to be great for her, and she's going to be great for Duke."

Dorms like Wilson Hall have first-year advisory council student greeters, full of enthusiasm.

"There's a lot of amazing experiences to be had, and the classes are, they're hard but there's a lot that are rewarding," Duke Sophomore Elayne Wang said.
