Groundhog climbs up into Durham police vehicle

DURHAM (WTVD) -- You just never know what you're going to be called on to deal with when you're a police officer.

A Durham officer was driving down Roxboro Road Thursday when he came across a groundhog acting aggressively towards a woman.

When he stopped and got out of his vehicle to help, the groundhog started chasing him too. Then, it climbed up into the wheel well of his SUV and wouldn't come out.

Animal Control came and corralled the angry rodent. Maybe he'd heard one too many "how much wood would a woodchuck chuck" rhymes?
