Man sought in Chapel Hill shooting

CHAPEL HILL, NC (WTVD) -- The Chapel Hill Police Department says it has a suspect in an early-morning shooting.

Investigators said a person wounded in the shooting at a Red Roof Inn in the 56-hundred block of Chapel Hill Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. Saturday is expected to survive.

Now, detectives are looking for 36-year-old Benjamin Gilbert Uhlenberg.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of Benjamin Uhlenberg should call either the Chapel Hill Police Department at (919) 968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515. Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to arrest.
