Two charged with killing man outside Fayetteville bar

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department says a man has died after being assaulted in the parking lot of 301 Wingz Bar and Grill early Sunday morning. Two suspects were arrested.

It happened just after midnight at the establishment in the 400 Block of N. Eastern Boulevard.

Authorities identified the victim as Michael Mansfield, 52, of the 300 block of N. Eastern Boulevard.

Police said the victim and the two men were inside the bar prior to the altercation. They all went outside and the two assaulted Mansfield, leaving him unconscious. He later died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Officers arrested Hubert Underwood II, 37, and Steven Rosser, 26, without incident. Both were charged with 1st degree murder. They were taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
