RALEIGH (WTVD) -- On Thursday, Donald Trump's campaign opened more campaign offices in North Carolina, and he enlisted a Tar Heel native to do the honors.

Lara Trump, who is married Trump's son Eric, was at the opening of the new Cary campaign office.

The Republican National Committee is calling it a "victory office." They'll be working to try to elect Trump and other Republicans on the ticket.

Lara Trump, a Wrightsville Beach native, opened by saying she just arrived from her alma mater - NC State - where she was talking to students.

The RNC is opening three offices in North Carolina - the one in Cary Thursday and two in Huntersville and Charlotte on Wednesday.

Hillary Clinton's campaign are also opening offices in Cary, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Elizabeth City Thursday - for a total of 33 campaign offices in North Carolina.

"Hillary Clinton has been committed to North Carolina from day one and has a robust ground game to show for it .. We are actively recruiting volunteers and talking with voters about Hillary Clinton's plans to build an economy for everyone, not just those at the top," Andrew Bates, Hillary Clinton's North Carolina campaign spokesman said in a statement.

However, Lara Trump said Thursday that the Republican Party has had a strong ground game in North Carolina for years.
