A police department in Kansas had a reminder for people who weren't happy while watching the first presidential debate Monday night.

Lawrence police asked for residents to stop making 911 calls because they were upset with a presidential candidate.

They tweeted out from their official account:

"REMINDER: We realize politics can make emotions run high, but being mad at a presidential candidate in a debate is NOT a reason to call 911."

Their message on Twitter went viral, with over 25,000 retweets.

They followed it up by discouraging debate drinking games, perhaps to keep emergency calls to a minimum later in the night.
