1 dead, 2 injured in a shooting outside Wendy's in Fayetteville

It happened outside a fast food restaurant.

One person was killed and two people were injured in a shooting outside a Wendy's in Fayetteville Saturday afternoon, police said.

It happened in the 2900 block of Raeford Road.

Police said a group of people had arranged to meet each other in the parking lot. Eyewitnesses told our crew that two people were in a car and one person got out and into another car. Then there were gunshots and the first car left the area, eyewitnesses say.

One man died at the scene. Police identified him as 31-year-old Brandon L. Ratliff of Norfolk, Virginia. The two other men had minor injuries. They were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in fair condition.

Police are investigating.
