NASH COUNTY, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A Nash County sheriff's detective is credited with pulling a person from a burning car just moments before it exploded.

It happened Friday on Taylor Store Road. The car veered off the road, struck a tree, and burst into flames.

Detective Mariel Moore, along with two other people, pulled the man from the car and got him to safety. Seconds later, the car exploded.

The sheriff's office said Moore's actions saved that man's life.
