Traffic signals down at Hammond and Tryon roads in Raleigh Wednesday morning (WTVD)

The wind is to blame for knocking down traffic lights in Raleigh early Wednesday morning, prompting road closures.

It happened around 4 a.m. at Hammond and Tryon roads.

A detour is currently in place, however, drivers are being advised to avoid the area until repairs are made.
