Two shot in Nash County
Deputies said two people were shot in a domestic-violence dispute.

WHITAKERS, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Nash County Sheriff's Office deputies and the North Carolina Highway Patrol are in the 1400 block of Shearin Road in Whitakers, responding to a domestic violence shooting Thursday night.

Two people have been shot, a Nash County official told ABC11.

The sheriff's office said there is no danger to surrounding neighbors.

The incident is "isolated to one residence," the sheriff's office said.

"It is a domestic-violence shooting, (the) residence is secured, and we are currently processing the scene," said Chief Deputy Brandon Medina.

Medina said there was "never a barricaded subject in the residence."

Officials did not immediately release the nature of the relationship between the two people shot or circumstances surrounding the violent incident.

No word yet about the extent of injuries.
