Beyonce and other celebs are dontating to Houston

Beyonce and other Celebrities are pledging to dontate to relief efforts in Houston after Hurricane Harvey's devastation.

The Houston born singer released a statement to the Houston Chronicle Monday afternoon, and it said, "My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help,"

Beyonce added, "I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor to implement a plan to help as many as we can."

BeyGOOD is a philanthropic organization that was established in 2013. It partners with global charity organizations to get people employed and provide clothing, counseling, housing, food and medical assistance.

On Sunday, Kevin Hart challenged his celebrity friends to do their part and donate $25,000 to the Red Cross.

Beyonce was among the stars he called on to make their own pledge.

Other celebrities like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Chris Brown also accepted Harts challenge. The Rock posted a video on Instagram saying he will donate $25,000 and Brown says he's upping his donation to $100,000.

Ellen Degeneres is also giving toward relief efforts in Houston. The comedian/TV personality says she and her show will donate $25,000 to the Red Cross. Degeneres says she's also going to give another $25,000 to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) of Texas.

The Kardashian clan is doing their part as well. Kim Kardashian West tweeted Tuesday that she, her mom, and sisters are donating $500,000 to the Red cross and the Salvation Army.

If you want to do your part, The American Red Cross is accepting donations on its website. You can also text HARVEY to 90999 to donate $10.

Donations to the Salvation Army can be made online, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) or texting STORM to 51555.

AABB, which coordinates a task force to manage blood collection efforts during disasters, put out a call on Sunday for blood donations in the aftermath of Harvey. Most in demand: those with type O-positive blood.
